The (Vetoed) Dresses

I've already bought two dresses; one I loved and one that I loved better in the picture than in person. The cream colored one was what I planned on wearing at the castle and it would have been perfect, but not so much for the boat. I've got my eye on dress #3, and hopefully the third time's a charm on this one.

Preppy sailor theme

So now that we're having a wedding on a boat, I struggled for ideas for decorations. I didn't want anything too beachy, too cute, or too much like a destination wedding. Plus the inside of the boat is kind of stuck in the 80's as far as decor goes, and it narrowed down options because a lot of colors would just clash big time. Pink was vetoed immediately by Steve. I started looking online and saw some cute ideas that were based on signal flag colors.

Some people already know that I was originally thinking about having the wedding at Castle on the Hudson. As beautiful as it is, the cost was really restricting us on the guest list. One day while I was surfing on the web, I came across the Skyline Princess. I had to register with my e-mail address to see a sample menu, so I did, and I received an e-mail with pricing. Never in a million years did I think I would ever be anything but a cater-waiter in a wedding on a boat this size, but after meeting with wonderful Michele at Skyline it became the site for our wedding!

Welcome!

Welcome to my wedding blog! Steven and I are getting married on July 10, 2010, aboard the Skyline Princess in New York City. I needed one place as a catch-all for ideas, so feel free to add your comments, pictures and suggestions.
